Parker is eight years old and in the third grade. He has been writing
books since the age of four. Parker published his first book at the
age of seven, a series of mini-books about animals for preschool and
kindergarten children. It includes over 140 pencil drawings of animals
drawn by the author himself.
Parker is completing his third book, a chapter book for first-graders
entitled Piggy Goes to Space. Its release date is scheduled for March
of 2009. Just in time for National Reading Month.
Parker is also the editor-in-chief of a monthly newspaper called
The Haller Gazette. He initiated the idea of a newspaper by kids for
kids as a fun summer writing and reading activity in the spring of
2008. As the editor-in-chief, Parker makes all the editorial decisions
for The Haller Gazette, which currently reaches children in twenty-eight
